Challenges Galore!!

Good morning everyone, I'd like to introduce a new challenge to blogland, called Copic Creations.
The DT and I will be having challenges twice a month, on the 1st and 15th where anyone can participate for great prizes. Our first sponsor is 7 kids college fund, their generous package of prizes include a Memento Tuxedo black stamp pad, 5 copic sketch markers, and a Stampavie stamp! Howz that for a prize... Awesome!! The topic of our challenge is faces. So, onto my card.
I used an Easter Magnolia image of Tilda hugging Bunny and used my copics of course. For her face, I ended up using E00, E11 and for her cheeks, R20. I use E00 on her entire face, then outline her face in E11, add R20 for cheeks and blend it all together with E00. Lastly, I dotted her cheeks with my white gel pen as an accent. Everyone will have their own variation and style.

I did the same thing on the bunny just because I wanted his face to be lighter in color than the rest of his body. I took this photo to show that I used shimmerz on her wings. Well, it's that time again for another Alota Challenge over on Paper Craft Planet! Can you believe it's already Challenge 8? I am your host this week and my challenge is for you to create an Easter card. The challenge will run from April 1-April 15, and as always, Helene will be posting an awesome prize! Last but not least, this week's challenge for Flutterby Wednesday is to create a card using no patterned paper. I really wanted to make a clean and simple card since most of my cards are layered and have lots of embellies going on. I like how it came out, but find it quite plain. LOL!

I guess if it's plain, then I achieved my goal. LOL!!

ROP Challenge #9: Candle Creations

Can you believe it's challenge #9 already? Time sure flies quickly!! I am one day behind with my sample for the challenge at Roses on Paper. This week fellow DT member, Iris has chosen the challenge for us to create a candle using items only from Roses on Paper. So, I created this one here. Over the weekend, I went to Wal-Mart since Ben Franklin stores were out of them, and I only found one white candle there. So the pressure was on to be sure this candle turns out right. LOL!! Anyway, the candle is not very tall, so I had to find an image that would fit properly and found this Tilda from the Magnolia New Year collection, and used butterflies and grass from the Magnolia Butterflies collection.
I was thinking I should make a candle that can be displayed year round instead of seasonal but I still wanted to make it more "Spring-like". =)
Here is one side of the candle which shows the grass and butterflies from the Magnolia Butterfly collection.

This is the other side of the candle, opposite the top photo. One thing I love about Magnolia stamps is that they are interchangeable with each collection and they never get old at all!!

Here is the back of the candle with the rest of the butterflies. When I colored my image, I used colored pencils. I have not tried with pens, but I assume that it will run all over the tissue paper.

This is one of my most favorite things to do aside of card making. You really can use any image and all kinds of embellishments to the candle but I chose to keep it simple.

Something new to Roses on Paper is our new ROP Tutorial Blog. Here, the DT and myself included will have to come up with a tutorial and add it to the blog. For more information click HERE. Sweet Precious Moments

It's another Christmas Stampin' All Year Long card sketch!! This week I had to go with Precious Moments, it was staring at me among all the other Christmas images to choose from. I have had this image for many many years and have not used it in almost 5 or more years!! Anyway, I chose to make this card in pastel colors probably because Easter is around the corner and I've got those colors set out and ready to go!

I colored my image with my copics and added dew drops and a ribbon for embellishments. I really love making Christmas cards for the holidays but truly, I could not have colored this card over the holidays, doing it now is the best way to go!! I highly encourage all of you to create a Christmas card each week to keep you ready for Christmas.

I know I have not been visiting all of you in the past couple of days, I have just been so burnt out last week that I was lucky enough to relax and do almost nothing on Saturday. That is sooo rare for me. There is always something I have to do and somewhere I have to be. I will be seeing you on your blogs today!! =)

Lots To Share

It's been a pretty busy week for me and since it is the weekend I am hoping to catch up with everything from laundry to cards that I NEED to make! Like a birthday card for my mom. =)
First, I will tell you about what I made then you must read after all the pictures!
Well, yesterday was the start of a new Pink Cat Studio Challenge over on Paper Craft Planet, and will continue until Monday April 20th. Fellow DT member Mariska came up with this challenge.
To join in on the fun and a chance at the prize, you must create a card either layer your image, or add stitching to it or both. One other thing... to either create a baby card or a birthday card in honor of Pink Cat Studio's 4th Year!! On to my creation... I chose to make a little birthday book since I have to find a good use for these coasters.

This was made for The Pink Cat Studio 4 year celebration! For the letters, I have used my Sizzix letters called Playground , it's definitely time consuming since these letters are pretty small.
Here is the inside, I took Lily in the present out of the image, and made the present stand alone. It's hard to see it in the photo, but Lily has her arm out holding the bird.

Here is the book from a better angle so you could see it easier. I had to make it pink because first of all, I LOVE the color, and it's sweet for a birthday!I received this award from Lynda, thanks so much! i have to think about who to give it to. I will be back to list who will get this award.

Pink Cat Studio Sneak Peek Day #3

The day is finally here for you to purchase these adorable Sweet Pea Stamps and for me to show you the last of the sneak peeks!! When I made this card, I could only think of my sister and her daughter. My sister loves giraffes and I think she may even try to get my neice to like them too...later on though.Here I dressed sweet pea in his bear ears, and used my fun flock to make it fuzzy. I have also used the milk bottle and balloon . This card will be given to a friend for her son's first birth day!

Pink Cat Studio Sneak Peek Day 2 & Flutterby #50

Welcome to sneak peek day 2 for Pink Cat Studio. Today I have used stamps from the second set to be released this Thursday March 26. Here I have sweet pea in cowboy attire, isn't he a sweetie! I managed to draw the details on the bandana around his neck in my white gel pen, and found a background stamp from Stampin' Up to create a western look.

Here is a close up of the card and how I mounted his cowboy hat and the paisley background.

This image has sweet pea as a fairy on a pretty flower with her lady bug friend. I love this stamp because you can use it for baby showers, birthdays and more!! I love versatile stamps. I also cut out the butterfly from the sentiment on the card and placed it in the sky then glittered it.

Pink Cat: Sweet Pea Sneak Peek Day 1

Good Tuesday morning everyone!! I am back and hope that blogger will cooperate with me since I was not able to do anything with it on Sunday and yesterday. Anyway today I finally get to show you what I have been working on ... these are images of the new Sweet Pea set from Pink Cat Studio!! My first creation shows sweet pea in her strawberry outfit and ready to enjoy her lollipop. I think dressing your little girl in a strawberry outfit is soooo adorable! I had initially made another card using this sweetie but was not happy with it and had to throw it out. I was much happier with this strawberry baby card. I'm not sure about the rest of you out there, but if the card or project does not feel right I just have to re-do it. =) I wanted to add a black flower to the card to match but didn't have one, so I sponged a white flower in black and made my own... I didn't want to buy a whole box for just one black flower. LOL! Details on this card are at the end of this posting.

For my next card I have created a card for a baby boy and dressed him up with bunny ears!! I loved making this card because boys are such rascals! The little boys I know are rascals! LOL! Just last Wednesday a friend gave birth to identical twin boys and I can just imagine how playful and rascal they will be. Don't get me wrong, they are fun!! =)I love working with layers on my card using embellishments that I don't use often. One of the embellishments that I used (but should try to use more often) here is fun flock. I added white fun flock to the bunny ears. I know you can't really see it here, but trust me, it's there. =) I can't seem to find my light blue fun flock so had to settle for the white. The special delivery box was the other fun thing to color. To get the effect of a cardboard look, I sponged on the light and medium shades of brown and dabbed on the darkest brown for variation in color. I think it gives it more dimension too.

Under The Sea

It's very early in the morning here in the islands, about 330AM at the moment, I was on my laptop trying to get a crazy virus off of it! It took me a while as you can see the time. Now, it is free of everything, thank goodness!! The card I have for you today is made with Mermaid Anya, and she seems to be one of the most favored Anya Stamps next to Geisha Anya. This is my first time using this mermaid Anya and she is fun to color and use for cards. I think I had fun adding stuff to her. =) This sketch comes from In Style Stamps and they are having a contest to find their next Guest Designer. I thought I should try out for it since I love their cute cute stamps so much. I just found out about them through Maria--Hey girl!! =) I hope they like it.

Well, here she is closer. Lately this is my favorite color combination, it's cool and warm at the same time. But, make no mistake I still LOVE pink!! =) I have added some baby blue pearls in her hair, some aqua stickles to her bra, and gold and orange stickles to her body and tail. I gave her a little make up on the eyes and slight foundation to her cheeks.

Flower Soft Tutorial: Clothes

Hi everyone, I'm not sure how many of you are familiar with flower soft, or have ever used it. It's a wonderful product that can be used for a variety of crafts and can be purchased through the 7kids College Fund in a variety of colors. Besides using it on your cards as a filler for flowers in a garden or in a vase, I will be showing you how I use flower soft on the clothing of stamped images.

We begin with a stamped image, flower soft glue, and your choice of flower soft.
Apply the flower soft glue to your image, on the areas you want to add flower soft. You don't need to add a glob of glue, just enough to cover that area.

When adding flower soft to the glue, be sure to sprinkle it on with your fingers. It comes pretty well packed in the container but is easy to separate.

I have found that if you are applying flower soft to an area of clothing, you should try to contain the flower soft to that area only. I did this by pinching the flower soft. It also gives it a fuller appearance.

Here is the finished product after applying all the flower soft to the desired areas. I love the look of it because it makes it look like the softer part of the sleeve, or the hood. I also added it to her shoes.

Can you believe it's already Thursday? Time sure flies by quickly. The other day a co-worker said hey, it's 9 months before Christmas. It's definitely not around the corner but will be here in no time!! With that said, I think it's great idea to at least start making your Christmas cards...join in on the fun each Monday with Christmas Stampin' All Year Long. I have had this image stamped, colored and ready to be put on a card for about a month or so but just did not get around to it. I finally did find the right colors to match.

I used liquid pearls around the sentiment as an accent and used my oval nestabilities to create that background for the images.

Isn't this an adorable card?? I got this card in the mail from my friend Joy. We participate in a monthly swap where you create a card with any stamp and any kind of sketch. To find out more about it, check out Teri's blog. I love shaker cards , you can put all kinds of things in it and..the other thing about it, is that it is used to calm people...

We are already in the middle of the week, happy hump day everyone! It's flutterby Wednesday and the next challenge is to make a card using butterflies and buttons. I have stamped my 2 butterflies in yellow, cut them out and added yellow buttons to the center of the flowers.

Alot-a Goin' On

I was having trouble with blogger last night and only had a chance to post this now. We're any of you having trouble with that too? Anyway, Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone! Hope you are wearing green if you're not Irish. LOL! Not only is it St. Patrick's Day, but it is also a wedding anniversary for my parents! They have been married for 36 years today, Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad!! It is also the birthday of my hubby's grandmother. Today she is 92 years young, Happy Birthday!! =) The card I have today is made with a stamp from Alota Rubber Stamps. They have got some cute and new stamps for St. Pat's Day and for Easter, you gotta check them out!

I really like this one with all the shamrocks, it's actually a versatile stamp where it could stand alone or with another image. I will show you another card with this stamp and another image later this week as I am still working on it. ( I know St. Patrick's Day will be over by then, but that's ok). The sentiment on this card is also from Alota Rubber Stamps.

Something else is going on with Alota, and that is our newest challenge which is hosted by fellow DT member Cindy Haffner. She has a color challenge which involves Purple, Pink and Green. This challenge is over on Paper Craft Planet and will be up until March 31st. There's always a great prize for the winner from Helene so get your card ready and uploaded for a chance to win!

I finally got to use this cutie and she can be found HERE. These colors were actually perfect for this stamp and I was lucky to find paper to go with it and paper pieced it onto my image. I'm in the mood for a St. Patrick's Day celebration, we'll see how the weather is...I hear there will be a storm (rain, not snow) coming in. =)

Christmas Stampin' All Year Long!!

Happy Monday! Today Iam sharing 2 cards, and some great news! I am now apart of the DT for Christmas stamping all year long!! Thanks Maria...now I will have cards for the holidays! This week, Maria asked us to create a card with printed paper to either create a scenery with it, or to use it as an embellishment. Click HERE for all the details. I decided to make a card with the DSP(designer series paper) as an embellishment. I took my SU punch and tried to create a look of what a poinsettia would be.

I tried to create a 3-D effect with the flowers, to give it depth. You can see that here in this pic.

Anyway, I will give all the details for this card at the end of this posting.

This card was made for the Roses on Paper Challenge #8 contest going on now! This week I am hosting the challenge which is to create a card with patch work. Here is how I made it. I punched out 16 square pieces, layed them out and pieced that together. Then I cut the paper into a top note die, and ran that piece through the cuttlebug folder and I also chose not to go to my sewing machine again, so I did faux stitching.
